Beringer Stone Cellars Merlot 2006 – 86 points

2006 Beringer Stone Cellars Merlot

(USA, California, Napa Valley)

Not bad for 8 bones. This wine had some depth to it, but overall it was not dynamic or exciting.  Got hints of sour cherry and darker fruits on the start.  The nose was better than the wine, although a little musty smelling it had an old world nose to it and was real nice. Some would say this wine is well balanced, but to me it’s because it had no peaks and valleys in the transitions.  The finish was ok with hints of spices but not much flavor. I would put this in the table wine category and say that for 8 dollars is worth a try.  Sorry I can’t give you more on this but it was uneventful.
