Inniskillin Vidal Sparkling Icewine 2007, 90 points

2007 Inniskillin Vidal Sparkling Icewine

(Canada, Ontario, Niagara Peninsula, Niagara Peninsula VQA)

Went to Capital Grille in Boca Raton to have desert and wine.  Decided on the Inniskillin Vidal Sparkling ice wine. I’ve never had the sparkling version of the vidal before.  $135 for a 375 bottle. The color is a nice golden pineapple color.  Very nice nose that was crisp from the bubbles with plum, pear and apricot.  The start of the palate was nice and viscous with apricot, and a burnt caramel.  Really nice combo on this palate.  The wine had great hang time on the finish. The wine peaked at about 20 minutes after opening.  After that, the finish started to lose its edge.  Great desert wine and worth a try.  Little pricey at 135 but get it retail at about 65 bucks and it is a great experience.
