2006 Orin Swift Papillon
(USA, California, Napa Valley)
This is a nice wine with very good structure. A friend brought this bottle to a dinner in LA. The balance, structure and quality hit me instantly. Dark fruits and lots of blueberry and oak on the nose. The tannins we not outrageous on the nose. the color was a very deep purple. The palate was fruity and long with a nice balance of fruits, oak and tannins. Really great spicy feel to this wine. The cinnamon and blackberry with some sour cherry were prominent. The mid palate stayed the same from the start to the finish and was lush and long. Very good wine for the money and worth a try.
