N.V. Rare Wine Company Heritage Madeira Boston Bual Special Reserve
(Portugal, Madeira)
Had this with dessert at Spaiggias in Chicago. Very Interesting Maderia. I found this to have a dynamic feel to it and a 4th dimension. This was doing all kinds of stuff. The color was a little light and orange. The nose was like a light port but not the taste. A little hot and alcohol on the beginning but there was a good dose of Burnt Carmel with mandarin and tangy on the start. Then it transitioned to a burnt log and berries. Then before the finish there was some vanilla, green apple and fig. Pretty cool that it had this transition before going to a very nice and long finish of a very high quality black licorice. I am not a huge port or medeira fan but I thought that this was one to be savored. Very interesting and is worth a try at 40 bones a bottle.
