Red Rock Merlot 2005, 82 points
Simple would be the word for this wine. Definitely not overbearing. I’m being sarcastic because this is by far a table wine at best. New world, tank feel. The nose has cedar, plum, with some vanilla and hints of strawberry. The palate was short and weak. Not too much fruit but the tannins definitely hit hard. The finish was short and all tannins. About 10 bucks. might be ok for that price but that is not what my blog is about. I just cant endorse this wine. I would love to say give it a few years but I just cant see this wine blooming. There is just not enough complexity for it to thrive and grow.
