Better than I expected for a 20 dollar Mondavi wine. Other than a few vintages of Opus One I am not a huge Mondavi fan. I feel that overall he is a little industrial for me. However I was surprised by this Solaire Cabernet. Very nice for the money. I had this wine with a heavy Italian meal and the wine held up nicely. Sweet plum and earthy on the nose. The palate was both soft with a subtle edge to it. Nice balance. Dark fruits and black olive. The mid palate had a good long hang time with plum and blackberries. The finish went even longer with more veggies and black olive on it. The finish was unusually long for a 20 dollar wine. Overall I found this well worth the money and currently a hidden jewel.
