San Luigi Chianti 2005, 89 points

2005 San Luigi Chianti

(Italy, Tuscany, Chianti)

Color was purple hinting on the brownish side.  The nose was very floral with lilacs, roses and with hints of red fruit.  Very nice smell to this wine and initially felt serene. The palate was much more floral than I expected for a Chianti . More floral than fruit. The transition was uneventful and the finish lingered with a little fruit.  The finish had a nice solid spicy tannin feel.  That is where the Chianti came out. This is a softer more mild wine for a Chianti.  Not in a bad way because it was somewhat balanced but not lots of fruit.  OK for the money.

” This is the “consuming fire” of God mentioned in the Holy Scriptures. That archetype is the warrior, and this illness is particularly common among men such as soldiers and athletes. Do you want to add this to your spiritual tool box. They’ve been rehashed for hundreds and hundreds of years. There have been numerous studies to prove its existence, with some success and with some disappointments.
