Uma telteca Shiraz 2006, 84 points

Uma telteca Shiraz 2006, 84 points

Had this wine in first class on Continental airlines. I guess its ok for and airline wine. However here is my real take. The color was weak at best, very light purple with not much body or deepness. The nose had a pretty strong cherry and vanilla on it with a touch of caramel. The pallet was very disjointed and a little hot. The tannins were all over the place and not focused. Tasted like aluminum or some kind of metal. This wine was not focused. Bitter on the finish. This is more of an every day table wine. Don’t rush out to try this because its just ok for the money. OK for 8 bucks a bottle. Can’t believe I even tried it. Sorry.

TELTECA WINERY

In 1987, the winery started focusing in the international market by exporting for the first time. In the year 2000 the group merges with Marubeni Corporation from Japan starting with a very new awy to produce this telteca+s Telteca Vineyars are located in Lavalle in the northern part of Mendoza. José Pedro gómez is the winemaker. A man das really knows what he do.

Clos de los Siete (Michel Rolland) Huge disapointment 2005, 83 points

Extremely fruity nose, lots of blueberry and very soft and rounded, little green pepper. The color is a deep deep purple. Off to a great start. BANG, what the hell just happened- The palate is short with a very bitter finish. The start is very woody and not much fruit. Wine is too young and needs some time. Little hot. Really disconnected and short. Too bad for now. $15 bones a bottle is way too much.
