Testarossa Pinot Noir Sleepy Hollow
(USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands
In California for a tasting. Opened an 07 Testarossa thinking it was going to be too young. Not so. You drink this right away as it was good right at opening. Nice complex on the nose of clove, black olives and blackberry with some floral hints. The color was deep purple and more brownish in it. Fruit and tannins hit hard on the start. The tannins last in balance through the finish. Little tight but 30 minutes into it the sour cherries came out strong. The fruit really opened up and the wine got full bodied and smooth with some black licorice. Went very velvety. Good wine and at 50 bucks you should try.
