Titus Chardonnay Reserve 2007, 86 points

2007 Titus Chardonnay Reserve

(USA, California, Napa Valley, Carneros)

Deep golden color. The nose has apricot, vanilla and a little peach. Very nice and soft nose. The palate felt a little young for me. It was dancing all over the place and did not settle in. Strong lemon and pear. Heavy grapefruit on the mid palate and the bitter grapefruit lingers on the finish and it’s just too peppery for me.The tannins were way of the back of the tongue. I know Titus has been a darker wine but I was expecting more for this reserve. This chardonnay is a pass for me at 35 bucks. It needs to settle down. Will have to give it a couple years.
